Dr. David Morimoto
Dr. David Morimoto
Dr. Morimoto is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and provides comprehensive eye care with a special interest in cataract surgery and glaucoma.

Dr. David Morimoto graduated from Northwestern University Honors Program in Medical Education, where he received a bachelor of science degree in medicine, as well as a medical degree. He was selected as a member of the Alpha Omega Medical Honor Society. Dr. Morimoto completed his ophthalmic training at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago and was involved in research projects culminating in publications and presentations at national meetings.

Dr. Morimoto joined his father in practice in ophthalmology in 1990. He and his wife, Celeste Kaliski M.D., have two grown daughters, Emily and Sarah. 

Dr. Morimoto has served as past president of the Chicago Ophthalmological Society, an academic society comprised of the six academic training programs in ophthalmology in Chicago as well as practicing ophthalmologists in the Chicago area. He served on the board of the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness as chair of the committee reviewing and awarding research grants to young investigators at the six Chicago ophthalmology residency programs. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons which provides guidance to Illinois lawmakers on policies regarding eye care for the citizens of Illinois. As an active member of the medical staff at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Dr. Morimoto has served on the Medical Center's laser, surgery and emergency department committees.

Dr. Morimoto has traveled to India as a volunteer to perform eye surgery and treat patients. He was honored in Castle-Connolly "Top Doctors" in the Chicago metro area in both the first and second editions. His hobbies include triathlons, competitive swimming, and fishing.

Dr. Aras Zlioba
Dr. Aras Zlioba
Dr. Aras Zlioba attended the University of Notre Dame where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-professional studies. He is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School where he received his medical degree with honors and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmic training at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. Dr. Zlioba performed ocular research at Loyola and University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago involving ocular injuries and inflammation. He has published articles and received credits in several prominent ophthalmic publications.

Dr. Zlioba is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Chicago Ophthalmological Society, Will Grundy Medical Society, Illinois State Medical Society and the American Medical Association.

He has traveled to Africa as a volunteer to perform surgery and treat patients. He was voted one of Chicago land’s top ophthalmologists as presented in Chicago Magazine.

Dr. Zlioba is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has special interests in small incision, no stitch cataract surgery; glaucoma; a variety of laser procedures; and contact lenses.

Dr. Zlioba has been a practicing ophthalmologist in Joliet since 1990. He and his wife, Lina, are active in the Lithuanian-American community in Lemont and have three daughters: Ariana, Julija, and Inga. His hobbies include travel, skiing, reading and photography.

Dr. Tayaba Azher
Dr. Tayaba Azher grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and attended Benedictine University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She obtained her medical degree from Saint Louis University. She was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received The Merck Manual Award for academic excellence while in medical school. She did her internal medicine training at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Illinois and then completed her ophthalmic training at the University of Minnesota. During residency, she was involved in numerous research, medical student teaching as well as volunteering with organizations to provide eye care to the under and uninsured population.

Dr. Azher is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her interests include cataract, glaucoma, ocular surface diseases, minor eyelid procedures and various laser surgeries. She joined Associated Ophthalmologists in 2022.

Dr. Azher and her husband, Ali, have two kids, Hasan and Maryam, who are very excited to return back to Illinois. During her free time, she loves to cook, travel, read and hike.
